Dear Pinewood Families,

The school will be closed for the summer after June 29 and will re-open in the last week of August. On behalf of all the staff at Pinewood, we wish everyone a safe and happy summer holiday!

For our incoming Kindergarten parents, please click here to view a copy of the letter being sent home to advise you of September procedures. One important task is to get accustomed to using PARENT CONNECT. Please continue to ensure Emergency Release and other information is up to date and accurate in PARENT CONNECT. Please login to each child's account and check that the information is the same for each child. Please click here to view instructions for completing this information. 

The kids at Pinewood will be spending as much time outside as possible so please ensure they come dressed appropriately for any weather. It is also recommeded that kids of all ages keep some extra clothes at school in case of a slip in the mud or a puddle and it may also be helpful to put sunscreen on them for sunny days.

If any families move into the Pinewood area over the summer, please contact the school office during the last week of August to register. Please do not wait until the first day of school. Another aspect of planning for next year is the placement of students in classes. Our staff know the children and how they are able to navigate the school context and do an excellent job considering many, many factors when determining the best placement of students into new classes. Parents were offered the opportunity to share some thoughts about social/emotional/academic concerns they have for placing their children in classes using a Placement Consideration Request form. The input provided may be used to assist in class building. Completed forms were due to the school by Wednesday, May 31.
