Dear Pinewood Families,

It is hard to believe the last week of classes is here. One more newsletter will go out this week and report cards will be sent home with the children on the last day of classes which is THURSDAY, JUNE 29. Dismissal is at 10:30 am that day. 

For our incoming Kindergarten parents, please click here to view a copy of the letter being sent home to advise you of September procedures. One important task is to get accustomed to using PARENT CONNECT. Please continue to ensure Emergency Release and other information is up to date and accurate in PARENT CONNECT. Please login to each child's account and check that the information is the same for each child. Please click here to view instructions for completing this information. 

The weather is finally getting better. Kids will be spending as much time outside as possible so please ensure they come dressed appropriately. It is also recommeded that kids of all ages keep some extra clothes at school in case of a slip in the mud or a puddle and it may also be helpful to put sunscreen on them for sunny days.

At this time of year, the office staff start preparing for the number of students coming to Pinewood for the next school year. If you know of anyone who lives in the Pinewood catchment, or doesn't but wants to come to Pinewood, please encourage them to register as soon as possible. Also, if you know your child will not be returning to Pinewood in the fall, please give the school a call. Another aspect of planning for next year is the placement of students in classes. Our staff know the children and how they are able to navigate the school context and do an excellent job considering many, many factors when determining the best placement of students into new classes. If parents would like to share some thoughts about social/emotional/academic concerns they have for placing their children in classes, please download a Placement Consideration Request form or pick one up from the school office. The input provided may be used to assist in class building. Please have any completed forms returned to the school by Wednesday, May 31.
